Shakespearean Pie

OK, I’m not a big literature or theater geek (but I make up for it in other geek areas) but when this song came over the feed from The FuMP I just about fell out of my chair laughing!

The song is a simply brilliant spoof on Shakespeare to the tune of Don McLean’s masterwork American Pie by the hilarious Robert Lund.

The lyrics are hilarious and wonderfully crafted. Here’s just a taste:

“So to be, or to choose not to be
That’s the question I’m digentin’ in my soliloquy
And when fortune aims it’s slings and arrows at me
Tell me how I’m going to live through act 3
Answer please iambic-ally”

I heard of this site from the CNET Buzz Out Loud podcast who mentioned the song Dead Nintendo by Possible Oscar on yesterdays podcast. I think my current favorite would have to be She’s Underage by Seamonkey.

If you want to get their picks as they come out you can even use their rss feed with the software of your choice. It’s like a little taste of Dr. Demento every few days.

Life After Coffee On TV!

It seems that WGN-TV in Chicago did a video for Morning Sidekick’s parody song “My Cubicle” and even mentioned Life After Coffee on the air!

Unfortunately their site makes it nearly impossible to link directly to the video, but if you go to their morning news page you can find it in the Morning News Video section titled “Surfin’ the Net, My Cubicle Parody”.

The video is fairly boring, but somehow fits a song about how boring it is to work in cubicles. I’m not even sure the people in the video knew they were being shot.
